Riesling demands a great deal of respect as a grape, and so winemaking influence is minimal and therefore the attention is on the developing flavours and acidity levels in the vineyard. Once the balance is achieved then we make every effort in the winery to retain those precious flavours experienced in the vineyard.
An abundance of aromatics showing citrus, lavender and apricot blossom, with nuances of cloves and cinnamon spice. A medium dry palate with kaffir lime rind, lemon sherbet and freshly cut green apple crunch, delicate, sweet fruit and natural acid balance creates a perfect persistence of many flavours.

Since the establishment of the Xabregas estate in 1996 our winemaker has discovered unique personalities coming from each of our three vineyards; Figtree vineyard, Spencer vineyard and Narrikup vineyard.
In our desire to showcase the quality of our estate we have created a series of single vineyard wines. Our ‘X by Xabregas wines’ are the ultimate expression of the vineyard and are crafted with minimal intervention to showcase each variety and the unique vineyard from which they have evolved.
A Riesling of restraint and purity, Figtree expresses an intense array of floral characters coupled with talcum powder and mineral quartz.

A Riesling of European persuasion, complex preserved limes and spice on the nose with a medium dry palate that consists of an abundance of racy mineral acid and zesty citrus fruit.
Xabregas is a proud family owned boutique winery established in the 1996. After careful selection, three sites in Mount Barker, Western Australia were established for their ability to produce wines of finesse and elegance; Fig Tree vineyard, Spencer vineyard and Narrikup vineyard. Our focus is to bring the unique expression of our three vineyards to the fore with every bottle of wine coming from our estate. The wine has rapidly exceeded expectations of a small producer, collecting a bounty of awards and outstanding wine reviews including over 20 gold medals to date, 28 silver medals and 2 Jimmy Watson Trophy Finalists awards.
Skirting the south-west Australian coast for over 200 kilometres (125 miles) and pushing northwards back into the hinterland almost 100 kilometres (60 miles) it ranges from the coastal, maritime sub-regions of Albany and Denmark to the premium inland and cool maritime climate vineyards of Mount Barker. Mount Barker became the birthplace of the great southern wine industry in the early 1950s when first recommended for grape vines by the revered American Viticulturist Harold Olmo. Most wineries and vineyards in Mount Barker were established on the gently undulating ground to the west of albany highway – distinguished by their rich, alluvial iron based gravels providing the excellent drainage qualities and relatively low fertility required for ‘low-yield’ premium fruit.
